Two Planks Theater Company was proud to present the important musical, Next to Normal, not only because it is a Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize winning musical, but also because it focuses on the crucial topic of mental health issues that are so important to families and communities across Fairfield County, Connecticut, and the country.

Because theater is not just art and entertainment—it is also a vehicle to explore important topics through a different lens, letting audiences collectively share experiences in a safe and supportive environment—Two Planks is proud to have partnered with nonprofit and service organizations from across the region to hold a community conversation on the importance of mental health on Sunday, May 24, following our 5:00 p.m. matinee.  Audience members and the general public were invited to join us immediately after the show for a question and answer panel discussion with mental health experts and support service agencies from across our region.  These organizations were also available and/or will have information on hand for patrons interested in finding out more on the services available in our area.

You may download a flier for the event here.

Two Planks would like to thank the following organizations for having supported our production of Next to Normal and for the work they continue to do in providing mental health and related support services throughout Connecticut.
